Why everyone is "interested" in wife beating...Why everyone is "interested" in wife beating in ISLAM when wife beating is happening everywhere...
"NEVER" is it condoned by the Quran.
See this video and tell me which Muslim husband is allowed to do that in ISLAM...
To my understanding this is never allowed in Islam...
In regard to the suggestion about wife beating In ISLAM as claimed by some, the following points should be noted regarding Islamic religion...
a) According to some traditions, The Prophet Mohamed said in his famous and well-attended speech on the occasion of his "farewell pilgrimage" that the beating done according to the present verse should be "ghayr mubarrih",i.e. in such a way that it should not cause injury, bruise or serious hurt.
On this basis some scholars say even that it should be largely symbolic and should be administered:
"with a folded scarf" or
"with a miswak(a tooth-stick) or some such thing".
However, to be effective in its purpose of shaking the wife out of her nasty mood it is important that it should provide an energetic demonstration of the anger, frustration and love of the husband.
In other words, it should neither seriously hurt the wife nor reduce it to a set of meaningless motions devoid of emotions.
b) The wife has no religious obligation to take the beating.
She can ask for and get a divorce any time.
The suggestion applies only in the case when the husband is seriously disturbed by a prolonged nasty behaviour on the part of the wife but neither he nor the wife is as yet seriously thinking of breaking up.
c) If the husband beats a wife without respecting the limits set down by the Quran and Hadith, then she can take him to court and if ruled in favor has the right to apply the law of retaliation and beat the husband as he beat her.
d) Some fuqaha (Muslim jurists) are of the opinion that beating is permissible but not advisable.
They base their view on the fact that the Prophet intensely disliked the action.
But to say that beating is only permissible but never advisable is to say that there is never any good in it but the husband can nevertheless resort to it if he wants to; in other words he can beat up his wife without any good reason.
This, however, is a view that is not an attribute of the Quran, to my understanding from a Sufi Muslim friend...

I live in a multi religious and multi racial society.
Here, wife beating is normally associated to be drunk
and muslims dont drink.
Get what I mean?

Not sure I understand...
The wife getting beaten cause she is drunk or the husband is to drunk to know what he is doing.
Of course, our Creator doesn't condone drunkenness, to a degree that mental and physical facilities are noticeably impaired, regardless of what religion or race you are.

The non muslims drink. Muslims dont
When drunk, the non muslim husbands can be wife beaters.

Every country or state, I'm sure has there share of domestic violence. Here in the states, I believe it's money and unemployment. What do you consider the #1 cause for domestic violence in your country???
How do Muslims deal with non-Muslims who become violent whether they do or don't abuse alcohol or drugs in your country???

more unfortunate are their wifes
But there are muslims that are involved in drugs too.

That is a phenomenom worldwide, I think.

Maybe if they set down that beer, got out of that LazyBoy recliner, took off that dirty wifebeater t-shirt, got a job like the rest of use. Their world just might be a brighter place not only for them but everyone else as well.
