Massive record lot on Ebay...

E-bay Auction

From Thomas Edison to American Idol, this is the complete history of the music that shaped and defined five generations. 3 million records and 300,000 CDs containing more than 6 million song titles. It's the undisputed largest collection of recorded music in the world. About half of the recordings are new and never played, and every genre of 20th century music is represented. There are countless rare recordings worth hundreds, or even thousands of dollars each on the collectibles market. Organized and cataloged, the collection is meticulously maintained and housed in a climate-controlled warehouse. The estimated value of this amazing collection is more than $50 million
Every recording in the collection was purchased by the collection's owner over the past fifty years and represents a lifetime of work and his desire to see the music preserved for future generations. Advancing age and health concerns are forcing the owner to sell.

The history of 20th century music belongs in a museum (existing or new), or a music library. The collection's owner is seeking a private collector or a philanthropist willing to buy and donate the collection. A donation would qualify as a tax-deductible event. The collection contains many thousands of duplicate copies, which could be sold individually on the collectibles market to recoup a substantial part of the purchase price. If you're contemplating creating a museum around the collection, we can help with additional exhibits and design services.

The new owner of this magnificent collection will also acquire (1) the rights to Spin-Clean, the owner's patented vinyl record cleaning system, considered the best on the market by audiophiles the world over, (2) the rights to Discmist CD cleaner, (3) CD Saver 2-part archival CD storage sleeves, (4)Yellow Jacket 45 RPM acid-free archival storage sleeves, (5) ownership of the owner's six publishing companies and eight independent record labels, and (7) more than $100,000 worth of antique recording and listening devices and other music memorabilia currently on loan to a museum.

World's greatest music collection

The $10 back with a new eBay MasterCard advertisement is cute.

What's $10.00 gonna do you...
MasterCard charges to much interest.
And I hate credit cards.
Owing money to creditors is living above your means.
I don't like owing any one money.

Obmar! You don't know what this is???
Wait until Harris sees it...
He's gonna FLIP.

You probably know them as music CDs...
Back in my days they were called records and you played them on a phonograph like these...

Although the one my mom owned wasn't as old as these...

Here's one that is not quite as old as others but is old since they don't make them like this or as good as this any more. A television set but his the record player on one side and radio on the other side.

Seen a few sold by Car Boot sellers
not long ago, although not as beautiful.

Never had the luxury to own one when I was young.

Never heard of a "Car Boot" sellers...
What is that?

My Mom had a record player when I was really young but not as old as those. She kept it in the living room, played it often. Elvis Presley was the most popular at the time. Then when we moved to the states she give it to us girls, me being the oldest. I believe I used to drive her crazy, dancing around the house listening to not only her old record albums but after awhile she started buying record albums, music I enjoyed listening and playing often.

Brings back many a nostalgic moments from my youth.

Carboot

a term I got in England

where you take things that you dont want
or want to sell put in your car boot,
open up where there are people
and hope someone will be interested enough to buy...

Now they do that in malaysia too.

but not as organised as the ones in england

We don't have that here to often where I'm from. If we do, I run across it maybe once in a blue-moon. The merchandise sold out of the trunk of a car or back of a van is HOT, usually stolen merchandise. I'd watch out for that if I were you.
