USS New York It was built with 24 tons of scrap steel from the World Trade Center. It is the fifth in a new class of warship - designed for missions that include special operations against terrorists. It will carry a crew of 360 sailors and 700 combat-ready Marines to be delivered ashore by helicopters and assault craft. Steel from the World Trade Center was melted down in a foundry in Amite, LA to cast the ship's bow section. When it was poured into the molds on Sept 9, 2003, 'those big rough steelworkers treated it with total reverence,' recalled Navy Capt. Kevin Wensing, who was there. 'It was a spiritual moment for everybody there.' Junior Chavers, foundry operations manager, said that when the trade center steel first arrived, he touched it with his hand and the 'hair on my neck stood up.' 'It had a big meaning to it for all of us,' he said. 'They knocked us down. They can't keep us down. We're going to be back.' The ship's motto? 'Never Forget' Please keep this going so everyone can see what it is we are made of in this country! |

You do know terrorists have this thing about having their own vessels. Sometimes the only way they can get to land is, most use boats, ships, etc. Scuba gear, I'd say without some kind of floating vessel like a ship, that's a hell of a swim across the ocean from the Middle East, Europe, where ever terrorists hang out. Unless they managed to happen to learn how Jesus Christ walked on water. I just can't see them trying it any other way. How about you??? What you been up to lately, Harris... |

You didn't have to go that far back in history: In Jena, LA inter-racial fights broke out at the school and then spilled out into the small town of 3,000, which is 85 percent white and 12 percent black after a black student had asked “permission" to sit under a tree where only white students are allowed to sit. The next day three nooses were found hanging from that "special" area, a paradise, not to be defiled. What's Going On

One minute we're talking about terrorism on the high seas... Next, you wanna change it totally to racism at some school. Could we try staying a little bit more focused on one thing at a time. Not jump from one extreme to the next. Age is a state of mind... Try thinking you feel young. I don't have a problem with getting old, I just wanna do it gracefully. Without all these damn aches and pains lately. |

CLICK HERE I don't know if this is something you'd want the kids, your wife or you'd be interested in seeing cause it has scenes in it that would scare the life out of anybody who isn't used to this sort or type of movie. Give the kids nightmares. One heck of a good movie concerning a haunted ship...

OK Harris, you got me their...
I know it isn't but there sure are days when I don't feel all that alive. Makes me feel like I have some terminal disease.
My joints and muscles when it's ice cold, the pain can be unbearable. I can only imagine one day when I become a senior citizen, what it's gonna feel like then. I hope you didn't break any bones in your younger days. Now that I'm older, it never lets me forget it. Broke a small bone on the side of my left foot. Everytime I twist my ankle or something, that one side on the top of my foot swells up, sometimes even turns black and blue. I also have weak ankles, so I wear slouch socks up to just believe my knees to keep my ankles warm. I also have tennis elbow or tendinitis. If I sit or fall asleep in one place to long, my joints and musles become really stiff and it hurts to move. Take me forever to get moving again. If I move about alot, keep my blood circulating, don't physically stress myself by doing any heavy work I'm fine. One of the hardest things for me is if I'm on the floor, carpet. It's murder and takes me forever to pull myself back up. I'll admit I might be a little chunky around the hips but I ain't no beached whale. |
