Can Art Heal, I say yes...

Look at this,
Stare at it if you will.
and slowly it will heal.

why, because the Quran says this.

O men! there has come to you indeed an admonition from your Lord and a healing for what is in the breasts and a guidance and a mercy for the believers.
( سورة يونس , Yunus, Chapter #10, Verse #57)

And We reveal of the Quran that which is a healing and a mercy to the believers, and it adds only to the perdition of the unjust.
( سورة الإسراء , Al-Isra, Chapter #17, Verse #82)

And if We had made it a Quran in a foreign tongue, they would certainly have said: Why have not its communications been made clear? What! a foreign (tongue) and an Arabian! Say: It is to those who believe a guidance and a healing; and (as for) those who do not believe, there is a heaviness in their ears and it is obscure to them; these shall be called to from a far-off place.
( سورة فصلت , Fussilat, Chapter #41, Verse #44)

Anything that up-lifts, makes one feel good about him or herself, has a great deal of healing properties not only on the heart but the mind, spirit and body.

healing can come through any and all the senses.

not just from medications.

But only if God permits....

And a soul will not die but with the permission of Allah the term is fixed; and whoever desires the reward of this world, I shall give him of it, and whoever desires the reward of the hereafter I shall give him of it, and I will reward the grateful.
( سورة آل عمران , Aal-e-Imran, Chapter #3, Verse #145)

And with His Permission....

.......and when you determined out of clay a thing like the form of a bird by My permission, then you breathed into it and it became a bird by My permission, and you healed the blind and the leprous by My permission; and when you brought forth the dead by My permission;.......................

Thank you, Obmar!!! You won't be catching me taking drugs and medication to enhance my emotions. I have a natural high. I very rarely take anything unless it is a last resort or physical pain is so extreme I can't stand it no longer.

Good for you rachel,

I am looking at herbal remedies as well.

Many of the drugs we take are made from herbs, plants. They don't recommend you take them unless you consult a physician first. Then I still believe in using my own jugdement. Could still not be what is best for me.

Prolonged use of certain herbs have been known, like an aspirin a day, to thin out the blood. Which if you ever needed surgery could cause uncontrollable bleeding. Before you do, always take the time to research and study before making any rash decisions.

Not to mention the prolonged use of anything can lead us to addiction...

There is nothing wrong with taking drugs, herbs, etc. I find them a blessing from Allah. It is unfortunate that we take these blessings and priviledges he gives use and we abuse them.

Thanks,

some other things that I picked...

periodic cleansings,
eating simple and whole foods and herbs,
avoiding excess,
drinking plenty of water,
praying and seeking guidance from Allah,
seeking the help of others,
and being persistent and patient.

That could be helpful.

Not forgetting the benefits of fasting.
