This is the week of Kwanzaa.
Although it is a holiday not all celebrate.
We should still think of those who do.
So, Happy Kwanzaa!!!

Kwanzaa is an African-American cultural celebration that introduces and establishes principles and practices designed to recapture the essence of our African American selves and give our children and their descendants a positive Afro-centric value system for the future. It was first created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, founder and chairman of the Black Nationalist Organization, "US". It is celebrated from December 26 to January 1st.

Kwanzaa is from a Swahili word, "Kwanza", which means first which comes from the phrase "Matunda Ya Kwanza"  which translates as "First Fruits"

Kwanzaa Symbols
Like any other important holidays, Kwanzaa has its special symbols. These symbols are instructional in that they represent and reinforce the basic principles and concepts of Kwanzaa.

They are:

Mkeka
Kinara (candle holder)
Mishumaa Saba (7 candles, 3 red, 3 green, 1 black)
Mazao (fruit and vegetables represented by the bowl which holds them)
Vibunzi (ears of corn)
Zawadi (gifts usually Afro-centric in nature)
Kikombe Cha Umoja (Cup of Unity)
The Karamu ( the Feast) is the centerpiece of the celebration. This is the time when families and communities come together to celebrate the fruits of their labors.

I believe there are those African-American posters who would like to post something like this but are afraid to, for fear they might upset the neo-nutzo monsters. Like I care what they think. I think I'll post that on Liberty Forum just to show how much we care about those who celebrate Kwanzaa. Could be edumacational for us.

Happy Kwanzaa to you to Obmar...

Can't get on either...
Being overwhelmed with to many posters at one time is probably the reason why. Posters are probably celebrating like it's 1999 posting all sorts of New Year threads. We will have to be patient.
