Beautiful Recital

Radiate_Truth

That is so beautiful...

What was he saying...
Was he singing or praying???

We have something similar called recieving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, manifesting the gift of speaking in tongues who never have before, being able to heal the sick or becoming ministers of the word who never have been able to before, etc...

I have only witnessed the speaking in tongues...

I understand the English part...
But what language is the rest...
Is it Arabic???

Seventeen times a day, you say...
Would that not take all day long...
Is that the only thing he does is prayer???

Does he do it voluntarily, of his own freewill cause he enjoys doing it or does he get paid, a salary to do this all the time???
obmar

Arabic is the language

Muslims pray five times a day
exception women in the menses
not required during the period.

first dawn before sunrise that recital is read twice
noon that recital is read four times
late noon another four
sunset three times
night four times

it becomes compulsory when one reaches puberty
until death,

very short less than fifteen minutes each time

no everyone does it, and at other times we do normal work.

imam is voluntary, usually each mosque have 4 of five
imams but a respectable position.

not salaried , must be model in the vicinity, in character and sanity.

Some state mosques does provide alloeances and they are usually graduates in islamic studies.

Apart from the five times prayer
Muslims fast a whole one month each year.

and need to do the pilgrimage once in a lifetime.

What do you mean by fast...
As in starve yourself, as give up eating...
Or give up a bad habit like smoking cigarettes???

What is a pilgrimage???
obmar

Fasting is abstaining from food and drink or smoke (for smokers)
from sunrise to sunset.

NO sex during the fasting, not even intimacy

Pilgrimage is this http://koran.topcities.com/Pilgrimage01.htm

Visiting, and praying during the sacred months at the house of Abraham, in Makkah

I did not know or had no idea such places existed...

That is so beautiful that so many people can gather together, get along like that, without fighting or trying to kill each other...

Now is haj season again. at the peak of Haj, imagine some three million men and women will be there praying together.

And it is the most peaceful place , no theft or robbery, no quarelling, or causing any trouble.

Everyone want to be in their best form in the eyes of God, there.

Talking about it makes me feel like I want to be transpoted there right now.

Rachel, have you seen by haj blog? That I did as a record of my pilgrimage.
Normally people dont take photos there, not until now, but I wanted to tell my forumer friends what was it like to be there.

A few of my friends that saw that had now gone to do their pilgrimage.

That is a place that I find, mystical in so many ways.
A place that if you think of anything good it will happen right, there and then.

One day, I was praying, and immediately after that, I said, wish i could meet
my relative that was also there. Imagine in the million people there, a person walked in front on me and when he turned as if looking for someone, I cried silently, because it was him that i wanted to meet.

On Pilgrimage, God said.

Al-Baqara (The Cow)

2:203 And bear God in mind during the appointed days; [186] but he who hurries away within two days shall incur no sin, and he who tarries longer shall incur no sin, provided that he is Conscious of God. Hence, remain Conscious of God, and know that unto Him you shall be gathered.

The assembly at arafah is Special.

No Haj is Haj if you are not at the assembly
during the prescribed time.

And at times it is more than three million pilgrims.
All drapped in white long towels.

No underwears even.

Thus, it is the mork-up to ressurection when every living soul will be called to assemble at the place of the same name to display their book of deeds.

3 Million people, yet so quiet.

Everyone is so busy repenting and asking forgiveness
that you can even hear the sound of birds and insects.

A splendid display that all men are equal.

The pave is also called the valley of the tents

Arabic writing...
Looks like it would take a lifetime to learn.
Meaning if you were not being taught it from the time you were born, no one could learn it that easily.
obmar

Learning begins with intend.

If the intend is right, nothing is impossible.
Radiate_Truth

I'm sure there is probably an easy way...
I just have to find what works for me.
obmar

It would be not as difficult as Hebrew, I presume
Radiate_Truth

I don't speak Hebrew...
obmar

As english then.

I learned english
although still a long way.
obmar

In Hebrew
they do continious recital/call following the heartbeat.

Eloh, Eloh Eloh
(Iwas told elohim is not as it denotes plural amd God cannot be plural)

we say

Allah Allah Allah

These are taught by the prophet as a ritual to
make the following Muslims to be God Conscious
24 hours, 7 days a week 365 days a year,
until we return to our Creator for good.

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)

3:198 whereas those who remain Conscious of their Sustainer shall have gardens through which running waters flow, therein to abide: a ready welcome from God. And that which is with God is best for the truly virtuous.

Al-Imran (The Family of Imran)

3:200 O you who have attained to faith! Be patient in adversity, and vie in patience with one another, and be ever ready [to do what is right], and remain Conscious of God, so that you might attain to a happy state!

An-Nisa (The Women)

4:1 O MANKIND! Be Conscious of your Sustainer, who has created you out of one living entity, and out of it created its mate, and out of the two spread abroad a multitude of men and women. [1] And remain Conscious of God, in whose name you demand [your rights] from one another, and of these ties of kinship. Verily, God is ever watchful over you!
