Robiah Is First Female Pahang Police Deputy Chief
KUANTAN, June 4 (Bernama) -- Datuk Robiah Abdul Ghani, 54, Monday took over as the new Pahang deputy police chief.
With the rank of Senior Assistant Commissioner I, the former deputy director of administration is the first female to have been appointed to the post.
Met by reporters, Robiah was thankful for the appointment and promised to improve the police delivery system.
"It also reflected the trust and confidence in women in handling the job," she said after the handing over of duties by acting Pahang deputy police chief ACP Hasnan Hassan here.
The ceremony was witnessed by Pahang police chief Datuk Ayob Mohamed.
Robiah said her main task would be to set up a victim care centre and a child protection office in the state.
